"We leased this vehicle in Sept 2012. Have about 6,000 miles on it now. My wife drives it to work 20 miles round trip. Part city/part HWY driving. AWD/4 cylinder engine. Overall averaging 21.5 MPG. Recent tank was almost all hwy miles, and barely broke 22 MPG. Not impressed. 4 cyl is very sluggish. Had I known this, I would have either gone with the 6-cylinder, or bought the CRV. Power drivers seat is not the most comfortable. Had a 2001 GMC YukonXL that was much more comfortable than this. Lots of room in 2nd row for my teenage kid. But the negatives outweigh the positives. Would not buy the 4 cylinder again."

"We bought our Terrain a couple months ago.. just a little over 4,000 miles.. best gpm was 30.6 but average since purchase is 24.9 mpg. The 4 cly is a little sluggish getting in and out of traffic but is awesome on highway. It will cruize @ 75 with no strain and has ample passing power. Terrain is a Great looking vehicle. perfect for my wife. We got power driver seat which allows my bride to sit up higer for better road vision. I'm a big guy and the Terrain is just a little confining but I can still drive long trips comfortably. Both my bride and I are very pleased."

"Overall favorable veiw of 2012 Terrain. Exterior and interior are good. Very smooth and comfortable ride, my 3 children enjoy riding in it. My only desappointment is after four fill up with E10 gas I am only getting a 24.7mpg average with a low of 24.3 and high of 25.8. I was "expecting" average of 30 to 32mpg. My primary purpose of this car is commuting to work 28 miles round trip each day 90% high way mileage."

"i have just purchased a new 2012 terrain . my wife picked it out as a hot looking vehicle .now i just have 500 miles on it so not much to review at this time . I asked the salesperson what kind of mileage i could expect to get with it . first the vehicle is an all wheel drive with the 4 cyl engine which is rated at 30 m.p.g. highway and 25 city . Well we averaged 29.9 highway on the way home from milwaukee and it is averaging 25.8 around the city right now . I hope once the engine is broke in the mileage will increase .Our last truck was an 2500 chevrolet silverado and the mileage was about 15 m.p.g.so anything would be an improvement . will update this review in about 3 months when the terrain is broke in . Very happy with the vehicle at this point .only i miss the pickup truck for the convenience of throwing stuff in the back and not worrying about getting anything dirty . not so with the terrain ."

"Needed to buy American. Other car is foreign, still feel guilty. I had a GMC Sierra pickup and liked it alot. The Terrain seemed like a great value. Can't believe all the features and options on our SLT 2. We needed more room for traveling but still wanted good fuel mileage. I think I can get close to the 31 MPG on fuel. Ride is comfortable. Tons of safety features. We love the XM radio. No political ads. Worth the subscription price! OnStar navigation is way better than our GPS plus all the other OnStar features. Check out the Terrain! GMC has two bigger versions if you need more room."
